This program prepares students to support dentists in providing quality oral healthcare. Students learn dental terminology, oral anatomy, chair-side assisting, dental instruments and equipment, infection control, patient reception, dental radiography basics, sterilization procedures, dental materials, and patient education. The course combines classroom learning with practical training to prepare competent dental assistants who can efficiently support various dental procedures while ensuring patient comfort and safety in modern dental practices.
You’ll prepare treatment rooms, assist during dental procedures, sterilize instruments, take patient records, schedule appointments, and provide patient education.
Basic radiography is covered in the program. Additional certification may be required depending on the facility and regulations.
Not necessarily artistic talent, but good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail are important for this precision-oriented role.
